In his new autobiographical book, A New Way to Be Human: 7 Spiritual Pathways to Becoming Fully Alive (New Page Books), Robert V. Taylor, who would in time become one of the highest-ranking, openly gay Episcopal priests, tells a story that begins with spiritual awakeningand callingin South Africa. That calling was very tied to the struggles there for justice, equality, and the end of apartheid. These stories and more make for a vivid, telling chronicle. "This book will become well thumbed as you return to it time and time again to be reminded of what is essential to your journey: that God longs for us to be people of love and compassion." – Desmond Tutu.
