Co-presented with SIFF/The SEATTLE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. Elliott Bay is delighted to join with the Seattle International Film Festival at the newly revived SIFF Cinema at the Uptown in presenting an evening with Susan Orlean. The author of The Orchid Thief and a favorite of many in The New Yorker, she is first here with her much-anticipated new book, Rin Tin Tin: The Life and the Legend (Simon & Schuster). "I adored this book. It weaves history, war, show business, humanity, wit, and grace into an incredible story about America, the human-animal bond, and the countless ways we'd be lost without dogs by our sides, on our screens, and in our books. This is the story Susan Orlean was born to tellit's filled with amazing characters, reporting, and writing." – Rebecca Skloot. This evening will include Susan Orlean discussing the many lives of this iconic dogand, this being where it iswill include screening of archival videos (some of us remember the TV show), and a screening of Rin Tin Tin's great silent film, Clash of the Wolves. Tickets ($15 general admission, $10 for SIFF members/ticket + copy of Rin Tin Tin: $38 general admission, $33 SIFF members) and more information are at www.siff.net.
